About Steam Estimate
Steam Estimate is an independent analytics platform that estimates sales and revenue for games sold on Steam. Estimates are calculated from public data — review counts, pricing, and concurrent player counts — using our own algorithm, described in full on the methodology page. Steam Estimate has no data-sharing relationship with SteamSpy, VGInsights, or Valve.
How data is collected
A scraper runs three times a day and works through Steam's public store and API endpoints in batches, covering roughly 2,500 games per run. A full pass across every tracked genre and tag takes about 3.3 days, plus each run refreshes the current top-sellers list. Every scrape is recorded as a daily snapshot, which is what powers the trend charts on each game page.
What "estimated" means
Every sales and revenue figure on this site is a statistical estimate, not a confirmed number from Valve or a developer. Each game page shows a confidence level — High (10,000+ reviews), Medium (1,000–10,000 reviews), or Low (under 1,000 reviews) — based on how much review data the estimate rests on. Where a developer has published verified sales figures, those are shown alongside the estimate rather than replacing it.
